All-Star Game 2025 Starters List: My Wild Predictions (and Past Heartbreak)

I've been doing this for years – predicting, I mean, not actually playing in the All-Star Game – and let me tell you, it's a rollercoaster of hopes dashed and unexpected triumphs. My Bold (and Possibly Ridiculous) 2025 All-Star Starter Predictions

Alright, enough preamble. Let's dive into my 2025 All-Star Game starter predictions (American League only, because I'm focusing my energy; I'll do the NL another time). This is based on current projections and assuming a mostly healthy season.

• Catcher: Adley Rutschman (Orioles). This guy's a star, and he's only gonna get better.

• First Base: Freddie Freeman (Dodgers). Okay, technically National League, but I'm bending the rules a little bit here. He's that good.

• Second Base: Luis Arraez (Marlins). His batting average is insane.

• Third Base: Rafael Devers (Red Sox). Another consistent power hitter.

• Shortstop: Bobby Witt Jr. (Royals). The future is now.

• Outfield: Shohei Ohtani (Angels). Duh. This guy is a legend. I could build my whole blog post around him, but that would be boring.

• Outfield: Mike Trout (Angels). Another one. Yep, still the best.

• Outfield: Julio Rodríguez (Mariners). This kid is going to be a force in the league for years.

• Designated Hitter: Shohei Ohtani (Angels). I'm not even kidding. He'll likely DH too. The guy deserves two spots.

Important Things to Remember

• Injuries happen: This list is based on current projections and assumes a healthy season for everyone. But you know what they say about assuming...

• Breakout stars emerge: There will undoubtedly be a few surprise players who will dominate.

• Voter bias: Fans' votes can heavily influence the starters list. So some popular players might make it even if their stats aren’t completely stellar.
