Meslier (8/10): Illan was absolutely on fire. He made some stunning saves, keeping us in the game when Norwich were pushing hard. His distribution could use a little work, that's for sure, but that's something he'll get better at. This guy's a future England goalie, I tell ya!

Harrison (7.5/10): Jack was a constant threat down the left flank. His pace and crosses were a real handful for Norwich's defense. He didn't get on the scoresheet, but his tireless work rate deserves a huge amount of praise. He made some brilliant runs, and his energy was infectious. He really showed up, that's for sure. I know some fans are a bit frustrated he doesn't score more, but his overall contribution is immense.

Rodrigo (7/10): He scored that vital opening goal, and set the tone for the rest of the match. Not just the goals, but the way he held up the play was vital. He had some great link-up play with Bamford, and his overall performance was very impressive. That's the Rodrigo we need consistently! His work rate was top notch, I'll give him that.

Room for Improvement

Bamford (6.5/10): Patrick was a bit quiet, I thought. He had some decent chances, but he just couldn't quite find the back of the net. It's not his fault, exactly; the service wasn't the best, but it's also about finishing those chances. Still, he worked hard, linking up play and creating chances for others. He's always a danger, even when he's not scoring, so I'm sure he'll bounce back. We've seen him do that before, so hopefully he's gonna come into his own next game.

Struijk (6/10): He had a couple of shaky moments defensively, and he was a little hesitant in some tackles. But, overall, he did what was needed. This kid needs to grow up a bit if he wants to be a true regular. A bit more aggression and decisiveness are key in those crucial moments. He's got the physique, but needs to develop that mindset to play top flight football.

The Rest of the Team

The rest of the team put in a decent shift. Koch and Ayling provided solid defensive performances, although there were times when Norwich really tested them. The midfield battled hard, and even though the game was a bit disjointed at times, they all showed plenty of grit. This was a victory built on character. It wasn't pretty at times, but we won, and that's all that matters, at the end of the day.

Lessons Learned

This match highlighted the importance of clinical finishing – we need to take our chances better, without a doubt. And that means more practice, more focus, and keeping our heads in the game. We also need to work on our defensive solidity; we conceded a goal, and it never feels good giving that up. More consistency is needed! We've got the ability, but now we need the results.
