Nada. I’m still not over it. I should have listened to my gut and captained someone else, maybe someone playing a smaller team - you know, someone less likely to have a total meltdown. That's lesson number one, people.

Lesson 1: Captaincy Choices are Crucial

Choosing a captain is arguably the most important decision in fantasy football. You're essentially doubling their points. So don't be a dummy like me and just go for the obvious big names. Think strategically. Look at the fixtures, the team form, potential for assists... you know, the important stuff. My amazing captaincy choice cost me almost 50 points! I wish I’d checked the team news before the game. It was an easy mistake to avoid!

Beyond Captaincy: My Other Blunders

Okay, so the captaincy debacle was the main event, but it wasn't the only problem. I also made some seriously questionable decisions with my starting lineup. I played a defender from a team that got absolutely shellacked. I mean, they conceded five goals! I felt like the biggest moron on the planet.

This is something I've learned the hard way over and over, people! Don't just pick players based on name recognition. Look at the opposition! Seriously, look at who they're playing. A star player facing a top-tier defense is a risky pick. Look at team stats – things like clean sheets and shots on target. Do your research before locking your team in.

Lesson 3: Don't Ignore Team News

I can't stress this enough: check the team news. Injuries, suspensions, tactical changes – these all impact performance. I totally ignored pre-match news and it bit me in the butt. I can't believe I didn't watch for news about my starting players! Next time, I'm checking the team news sites way ahead of time.

Redemption? Strategies for MD8 and Beyond

So, yeah, MD7 was a disaster. But I'm not giving up. This is what I’m doing:

• Thorough Research: I'm going to be doing WAY more research – team form, player stats, upcoming fixtures. I'm talking deep dives, people, not just glancing at the table.
• Smart Captaincy: I'm going to prioritize smarter captaincy choices, players with a higher likelihood of scoring. Sometimes it’s best to pick players from teams playing a weaker opponent.
• Team News Alertness: I will be glued to team news updates, and I'm setting up alerts so I don't miss anything.
