The Backstory: Why the Change?

First off, let me preface this by saying, I get it. Dress codes are, like, the most controversial topic ever. Parents are stressed, kids are stressed, and even I was stressed trying to navigate this thing. We had a bunch of issues last year—students feeling uncomfortable, parents feeling unheard, and teachers, well, they were just trying to teach! Things got pretty crazy, honestly. The constant disruptions were impacting learning and the overall school vibe. It felt like we were dealing with dress code infractions every other minute. We needed a solution.

We looked at a ton of data, surveys from students and parents, even some of those super-long reports from other schools. It was a massive project!
