Western Australia: 2025 Honours List – A Sneak Peek (and Some Wild Guesses!)

Hey everyone! So, it's 2024, and I'm already totally geeking out about the Western Australia 2025 Honours List. I know, I know, it's a bit early, but hey, a girl's gotta plan, right? Plus, speculating is half the fun! I mean, who’s going to get a gong? Who deserves one? And what even is a gong anyway? (I’m kidding...mostly.)

This post is going to be a little different. It's less about definitive predictions (because, seriously, I don't have a crystal ball!) and more about who I think deserves recognition. And maybe some hilarious, totally-off-the-wall guesses. Think of it as a fun thought experiment, okay?

My Totally Unofficial, Possibly Hilariously Wrong Predictions

Let's start with the obvious. We're definitely going to see some heavy hitters in the fields of medicine, science, and technology. WA has been doing some amazing things lately, and someone's gotta get the shout-out. Maybe a researcher from the University of Western Australia who cracked the code to something super important? Or a groundbreaking doctor from a Perth hospital who literally saved lives? I hope so, anyway.

Then there's the arts and culture scene. Western Australia is bursting with amazing talent – musicians, writers, artists...the list goes on. I'd love to see a local playwright get some recognition. They deserve it. Imagine, a beautiful, heartfelt acceptance speech. Okay, I’m getting carried away.

And let's not forget the unsung heroes. The everyday people who make WA tick. The teachers who dedicate their lives to shaping young minds, the volunteers who give their time tirelessly, the firefighters who risk their lives to protect our communities. These individuals deserve a massive round of applause (and maybe an award or two).

A Personal Anecdote (and a Missed Opportunity?)

I remember when my grandpappy (God rest his soul) helped found a community garden in his little town – back in the day. It was a small thing, but it brought so much joy to his community. It's the kind of thing that makes you think: "Why aren't more people like that getting recognized?!" I mean, serious props to those who help build and strengthen WA communities. It’s so important!

Honestly, thinking about my Grandpappy makes me a little choked up. Maybe that’s why I'm so passionate about this whole honours list thing. This post is dedicated to him.

Practical Tips for Getting on the Honours List (Eventually!)

Okay, so you want to get a fancy award someday? Here are some tips (based on absolutely zero insider knowledge, just common sense):

• Do something amazing: This seems obvious, but it's true! Contribute to your community. Make a real difference.
• Network: Get to know people. Attend events. Make connections. People have to know what you're doing to nominate you.
• Keep records: Document your achievements. You'll need proof of all your amazing work!
• Be patient: It takes time to make a real impact and get recognized for it.
