Winter Storm Recap: Sleet and Snow – A Wild Ride!

Man, oh man, that winter storm was a doozy! I'm still recovering, honestly. One minute I was enjoying a relatively mild December, the next I was battling a full-blown blizzard – or at least, that's how it felt in my little corner of the world. We got hit hard with a mix of sleet and snow, the kind that leaves you wondering if you'll ever see the end of your driveway again.

The Sleet-Snow Combo: A Recipe for Disaster (Almost!)

The forecast called for snow, but what we got was a bizarre mix of freezing rain and snow – think icy pellets bouncing off everything. It was beautiful, in a terrifying kind of way. The kind of beautiful that makes you want to take pictures but also immediately run inside and hide. My kids, bless their hearts, thought it was an epic snow day – until they slipped on the ice while trying to make a snowman. Let's just say there were some tears (theirs, mostly...mine were frozen to my cheeks).

Remember the power outage? Yeah, that was fun. Six hours without power in the middle of a blizzard – a real bonding experience for the family. I mean, we played board games, told stories, and huddled around the fireplace...okay, it was a propane fireplace, and it wasn't exactly romantic. But we survived! The Aftermath: Shoveling, Sighing, and Sipping Hot Chocolate
